Video: The Black Dike – Iconic New Hampshire Ice Climbing

In need of some stoke?! Here it is. I was fortunate enough to film my good friend Dave Lottmann of Northeast Alpine Start and Northeast Mountaineering along with his guest Jay ascend the epic “Black Dike” on the picturesque Cannon Cliff in New Hampshire’s White Mountains! This mega classic WI4-5 ice climb ascends a steep gully behind Whitney Gilman Ridge on Cannon Mountain. The ice here is usually lean requiring some mixed moves on rock… Today however, there was plenty of ice! Perfect conditions!

Special thanks to Northeast Alpine Start, Northeast Mountaineering, and the other climbers who didn’t get too annoyed by me buzzing around overhead!
